Frequently Asked Questions

District 57

Q: What is it about?

A: If you are a citizen who is still not quite sure what the RP has to offer, you can find a brief history of our accomplishments here.

Q: Is it free? Are there age restrictions?

A: Access to the common space is free. Come and experience the immersive lobby and even enjoy some of the games for free. However, food, libations, Grid and most games in the common area are not free.

District 57 is a space designed for teenagers and adults. For safety reasons, children under the age of 10 years old will not be allowed in the facility unless parents obtained written permission prior to arrival.

On Friday and Saturday after 7 pm, all District 57 visitors must be at least 16 years old. Proof of age may be required.

Q: Can I buy a gift card for The Grid?

A: Of course! Click here to purchase.

Q: What are your COVID-19 safety guidelines?

A: In light of new guidance from 8/18/21, here is our safety protocol:

  • Staff and guests are required to stay home when illness is suspected.
  • Staff and guests must wear a mask covering mouth and nose regardless of vaccination status. Mask must be worn unless actively eating or drinking.
  • Hand sanitizer is provided and its use is encouraged.
  • We will continue to make sure all our spaces are well ventilated.

Grid

Q: Is Grid an escape room?

A: It is not an escape room. In Grid, you can choose between up to 30 rooms, each presenting you with a single challenge to complete and very limited time to do what you need to do. There is nothing to find and not a single lock in sight. If you can’t accomplish a task or simply don’t feel it’s up your alley, walk out and try another one.

Q: How many people are in a team?

A: Grid can be played in teams of 2 to 4 players. If you have a party of 5, book for 4 and pay the difference upon arrival. If your party includes more than 5 people, you will need to split up into different teams and make multiple bookings.

Q: Are there age restrictions?

A: Grid is designed for adults and older teenagers and children under 10 years old are not allowed in the Grid area. Children 10 and up are allowed in the following circumstances:

  • Children ages 10-12 must have a parent with them at all times, on the same team. The parent must be included in the paid reservation.
  • Teenagers who are 13-15 must have a chaperone/adult with them in the Grid area or in the lobby. The adult must stay on the premises.
  • On Fridays and Saturdays, starting at 7 pm, all participants must be at least 16 years old. Proof of age may be required.

Q: How physical is it?

A: A few of the challenges are more physical and participants who have balance or joints issues should refrain from attempting them.

Q: What should we wear and bring?

A: Some of the challenges are fairly physical. Therefore, closed-toe shoes are mandatory and high heels will not be allowed to be worn. Wear clothes that will allow you to move easily and will not be too warm. Plan on bringing and using one of your team’s smartphone as you are playing. It should be able to read QR codes and have sufficient battery to last for the duration of your game.

Q: Will I play with strangers?

A: All bookings are private. There will likely be other teams playing at the same time as your team, but you will never be in any room (other than perhaps the briefing room) with strangers.

Q: Do I need to prepay or to make a reservation?

A: All reservations must be paid in full when they are made. We strongly encourage reservations on weekends. We do take walk ins but cannot guarantee that we will be able to give you an immediate start time. Priority always goes to Citizens who have reservations.
